We have worked hard for almost three decades to attract and sustain a diverse ethnic and cultural group of families. Our children come from all over the world. Nearly 35% of our students are multi-racial or multi-cultural. We encourage this diversity because we believe that by supporting an environment of acceptance and celebration of differences, and by living together day to day, our children learn that at the core they are all one.

Since our inception, we have also had the privilege of integrating children with unusual developmental patterns in our classrooms. Children with Down syndrome, language and developmental delays, and autism have joined our classes as fully participating members.

Students commute from as far away as Oakley, Clayton, Benicia, San Pablo, El Sobrante, Oakland, Berkeley, and San Leandro, although the majority of our students live in the cluster of communities that border our school: Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Orinda.

Because our tuition is approximately one-half that of many other private schools, and because our tuition plus daycare is just a little more than what a family might pay for child care alone, we continue to attract families who could not otherwise consider private school. Therefore, our population is also economically diverse.

Many appreciative parents have asked if we can receive donations. Although we do not solicit donations, we certainly accept and appreciate those that are freely given. Donations to The Meher Schools are tax-deductible.
